Baby Madelyn had just turned 1 month new the week before she came into the studio. What a cutie she was, babbling away, happy as can be! She was such an easy baby to work… More
The message I had been waiting for finally came on the morning of November 2nd….my beautiful niece Jesse was in labour!! Apart from the excitement of becoming a Great Aunt, I was super excited because I was going to capture this amazing moment! So I quickly got my gear all together and jumped in the car for the drive to, wait for it, Markham! Of course, I figured I had loads of time to get there since this is her first baby and usually the first ones like to take their time. Regardless, I was stressing, (and perhaps driving a tad too fast), to make sure I made it on time.
Made it to the Markham Stouffville Hospital in 4 hours, (with no speeding tickets I might add), and was happy to hear that the baby had not yet arrived, but she was pushing. Jesse was exhausted and working very hard, so it was agreed that I would wait to start shooting until Ellis made his grand entrance. So I waited with my brother, Walter, (who was celebrating his birthday), and sister-in-law Connie, along with Jesse’s sister-in-law Kathy and her daughter Taylor. Jesse’s mother-in-law, Anne, arrived soon before baby was born.
Jesse, the super woman she is, pushed for over 3 1/2 hours! Finally, at 6:49pm, we heard the amazing news that Ellis had arrived, 8lbs, 9oz and 22.5″ long!! After a little time for the new Mom to recover, we were able to come in and meet the newest addition to the family. We were in love instantly.
Jesse and Joe, words cannot express how honoured I feel to have been able to capture these amazing first moments for you. Ellis is perfect in every way possible.
Children have neither past nor future. They enjoy the present, which very few of us do. Enjoy every moment during these early days as they tend to fly by. ❤
Back in April, I donated a family photo session to the “Olivia’s Easter Fundraiser for CHEO” silent auction. This is an annual event started after Olivia was rushed to the hospital back in 2013, on Easter weekend, with an aggressive strain of Pneumonia. Luckily, Olivia pulled through! All proceeds from this wonderful event goes directly to CHEO, and I was honoured to be a part of it.
Alana and Dionne bid on my session and won! They contacted me wanting some fall family photos done and I was thrilled to do this for them. We met at THE place to be in Ottawa during the autumn months, The Arboretum (of course), and the fun began!
It was such a pleasure meeting you, Alana, and your adorable family! I hope to work with you again in the future!
I just love when I have returning clients! Not only does is it wonderful to know that they love the work I do, but it’s also wonderful to see them again, and to see how much the little ones have grown in a year! Last year, when I first met this family, Ellie wasn’t walking yet….now she’s running around and talking away! My how time flies!!
This year, we decided to have their fall photos done at The Arboretum, not only because of the amazing foliage, but also so they can bring along their fur baby, Caycee! Literally EVERY PHOTO was perfect so it was near impossible for me to narrow down my favourites for this blog. If I could put every single photo in, I would….
Marcie and Steve, thank you so much for allowing me to spend a lovely hour with you guys again! Can’t wait until next time!
Have you ever met a family where you can just feel the love….like really FEEL it? It happened to me when I met the O’Neil’s.
Lisa contacted me wishing to capture some casual family portraits at their home. When she mentioned that she had four boys, I was a bit worried, to be honest, about how this would go. My fears were put to rest right away once I met them. Four beautiful, well behaved boys, who were stellar during the session! Might I add that although this session was taken at the end of September, it was over 30C outside, with hardly a cloud in sight! You would never know it from the photos that they were bothered by the heat. Genuine smiles all around, and some great belly laughs. This session was such great fun, and I’m honoured that I was able to be there to capture these memories for them.
I cannot tell to you how much I love this family!! I first met them when they entrusted me to watch their littlest one, Finn, at my home daycare. He soon became completely part of my family! Watching him grow during the year and a half I had him in my care was amazing…from crawling, to walking, to starting to talk, to forging lifelong friendships with the other daycare kids. When news came that his last day with me at my daycare would be the beginning of August, I hoped that we would stay in touch. So I was thrilled when Catherine contacted me to capture some family photos of them at Petrie Island!
It is evident in these photos the closeness of this family and the pure silliness of both Finn and his big sister Emma….from climbing rocks to chasing seagulls! So get comfortable because it was near impossible for me to narrow the photos down to just a few!
How gorgeous is the light of the photos on the bridge! *insert heart emojis!
I had the absolute pleasure of capturing four generations this past weekend for Monica and her family! The star of the show was baby Bria, who is 9 months old. She was sooo cute, I could just take photos of her all day!
Thanks again to the Zimmer’s for allowing me into your home to capture these wonderful memories for you! This is why I do what I do!!
I first met Candice, Richard, and their children last fall for a family photo shoot at the Arboretum, so I was just thrilled when they contacted me again to capture some shots of their extended family as a gift for their Father, this time at Petrie Island. Can’t think of a better gift to give for Father’s Day! And I loved seeing the just much Izzie and Neco have grown in almost a year! I can’t wait to see you again in October for another Fall Photo Shoot!!
There was never a dull moment during this amazingly fun photo shoot with Julie, Adam, and their two boys, Dominique and Damien. After throwing around a few locations, we decided on Petrie Island, a perfect location for this fun loving family. The highlight of the shoot came at the end of course when we headed to the beach, when the shoes came off and we played in the water! A wonderful ending to a wonderful time spent with these guys! Get ready for cuteness overload!!
There’s nothing like the bond between a Father and Daughter, and the love I saw between Scott and his beautiful daughter Olivia was a sight to see. We met at Petrie Island for a lovely early evening photo shoot, and I couldn’t be happier with the results, as you will see in their genuine smiles and laughter. I’m so happy I was able to provide them these memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.
I guess it’s only fair that, since I did a photo shoot with Maya the other weekend, that I do the same for my eldest daughter, Charlie. A few locations were thrown around but we finally decided on Hog’s Back. Brought back many memories of me going there with my parents when I was her age. We got a few shots in before her allergies set in and we had to leave…but not before enjoying an ice cream treat at the canteen!!
This shot was taken right after she sneezed….
